"We stayed at the Bay Queen for a week in April.  The Bay Queen had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. It is beautifully decorated and quite spacious. We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda in the mornings watching the activities of the shrimp factories along the beautiful Apalachicola river and in the evenings as the sun set. The shops and restaurants were delightful and charming and all within walking distances from the Bay Queen. The people that we met while vacationing were all so friendly.  We thoroughly enjoyed the EcoTour of the river and learned a lot about Apalachicola. The beach at St.George Island was beautiful! "We loved our visit to Apalachicola, it really was like walking back in time. When they say 'Old Florida' they mean it, and in the best way possible. Beautiful historic houses and buildings, some grand but most more on the charming cottage side, lots of wonderful restaurants from casual to fine dining.  Nothing stuffy about the town or its people, which we loved. No gated communities as far as the eye could see! We also loved The Bay Queen, which is perfectly located and appointed. Spacious and gracious and really nice art and furnishings. Particularly enjoyed sitting on the veranda for a glass of wine after our evening stroll through town. Beach is close and gorgeous and there are lots of state parks and historic sites to explore.  Can't wait to go back to Apalachicola and The Bay Queen."
